Sunshine Music Lessons has an excellent range of tailored music programs for pre-k and young children, available in both private and group settings.

The Mini Maestro program consists of fun explorative activities for preschool aged children that promote early musical development. We offer private lessons, small group lessons and immersion activities. Lessons in this program are faster-moving and incorporate a greater amount of stimulus to keep children engaged while maximising learning. In addition to exploring an instrument they will develop rhythm skills, ear training and music theory through a combination of performance, games, movement and written activities. Lessons and programs

Ukulele immersion classes

Our ever-popular ukulele immersion class consists of fun musical activities and exploration of the ukulele instrument. Children will learn how the ukulele works and will play and sing along to their favorite nursery rhymes. Basic ear and rhythm training are incorporated into classes through engaging movement and dance activities unique to our curriculum. Children will be exposed to various musical mediums including sing-alongs, echo songs, instrumentation (bells, sticks, hand drums, ukulele) as well as interactive visual stimulation to enhance ear-training skills.

Pre-K private lessons

Available to students ages 4 and under. The Mini Maestro private lessons are similar to regular private lessons but are faster-moving and incorporate a greater amount of stimulus. This is part of our trusted method to keep the child highly engaged and ensure the child is having as much fun as possible while learning in these concentrated sessions. In addition to playing an instrument they will engage in rhythm, ear training and theory through a combination of games and written activities. Offered for piano and/or ukulele.

Language immersion Singalongs

These classes consist of children’s songs and nursery rhymes from a foreign country. This class is a great way to give your child a head start in a new language and for multinational children to become familiarized with music in their second language. Fun games and activities will be incorporated into the repertoire to develop rhythm and overall musicality. Students will explore cross-cultural appreciation through interactive singalongs, movement and storytelling. Please enquire about your preferred immersion language. Popular languages include French, German, Italian, Spanish and Chinese.

All classes consist of the following components:

Repertoire: musical exercises or songs that are being developed in class

Rhythm Training: games and exercises to develop rhythm skills

Ear and Theory Training: interactive activities to learn concepts of music.

Movement: Movement is used as a tool to internalise new musical concepts and enhance engagement level
